Job Summary with Essential Responsibilities
The Tax Accountant works in the Nashville, MO offices and services the needs of our business, individual, and non-profit clients by providing quality consulting, planning, tax preparation & filing, and other advisory/financial services, such as estate and trust accounting. Essential responsibilities include:
- Provide consultation services to clients and make strategic tax recommendations that align with business objectives.
- Provide guidance on tax planning strategies that minimize liability, presenting information clearly (without the use of unnecessary financial terminology/jargon) so that clients can make informed decisions.
- Prepare and file individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns at the federal, state, and municipal levels.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors and represent clients (both in writing and in person) on federal, state and local tax matters.
- Keep current with tax law changes and related compliance matters.
- Review trust records and transactions to ensure proper recordkeeping, maintenance, and regulatory compliance with trust agreements.
- Report financial health of trust to trustees. Prepare and file taxes on trust assets.
- Demonstrate a customer centric approach by developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients through ongoing communication and consulting services, both virtually and in person.
- Participate in business development activities and attend networking events to increase brand recognition and contribute to firm growth, contributing to the team effort and company profitability.
Ideal Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with an active CPA license.
- 3 or more years’ experience preparing business, individual, non-profit, estates and trusts tax returns at all levels (federal, state, local).
- Strong knowledge and advanced understanding of US GAAP.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Accounting CS, SAGE 300, and UltraTax a plus.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel (ie: VLOOKUPs, pivot tables).
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple clients with conflicting priorities and deadlines.
- Integrity, with the discipline to maintain client confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently, identifying and removing roadblocks and facilitating process improvements.

Requirements:
